The microscopic pores of a GORE-TEX membrane are 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet, making GORE-TEX garments impenetrable to water from the outside. SITKA DESIGN NOTES
Finding a shell that could meet the technical needs of a full season of waterfowl hunting was damn-near impossible. So, Sitka Gear set out to create one. Sitka Gear utilized a 3-layer GORE-TEX Pro laminate for its added durability to withstand abrasion in unforgiving environments. The GORE-TEX PRO plus a DWR finish make this a 100% waterproof jacket. The jacket is cut intentionally short to wear with waders in high water conditions, and water-sealing cuffs with a velcro gasket seal out water and precipitation. It's a fully-loaded technical jacket, so Sitka Gear included pit zips for dumping heat, reinforced forearms to resist abrasion, a 3-way adjustable hood designed to stay in place without hindering peripheral vision and a standing collar that zips to seal out frigid winds. An integrated call-keeper system and bellowed lay-flat front shell pockets with ultra-quiet magnetic closures round out this beast of an all-season waterfowl shell.
